    What are Live Contacts

    What are Live Contacts?

Help us test Live Contacts, a new feature that will help you and your family, your friends and business colleagues keep your contact information automatically up-to-date.

With Live Contacts, you choose what information you wish to share and the people you want to share it with. You can be sure that family and friends always have your current home phone number and personal e-mail address, while business colleagues have your current work e-mail, phone number, or other business information.

When you share your Live Contact info, the contacts you choose to share with will see your updated information every time you make a change. They can see this either in their MSN contact lists or your Spaces profile. You can change who you share your updated information with and what information you share at any time.

What do you need to get started?
    1. Sign in to your account using your Microsoft online services credentials, or sign up for new credentials if you don't already have them. With Microsoft online services credentials, you will be able to share your Live Contact info and subscribe to updates from other Live Contacts.
    2. To view updated information for all the Live Contacts in your list, you will need access to your MSN Hotmail or Windows Live Mail Beta contact list. Dell to make personal computers in India

      GOD BLESS DELL
i mean what the hell they ware doing this, anyway dell is not that quality product like IBM LOL  nope i like dell its a good product but i dont think they can maintain same quality in india

New Delhi, Jan 30: World's largest computer maker Dell today said it would set up a manufacturing facility in India.

"We have concluded that time is right to consider a manufacturing site in India... we are looking for a location," Dell Chief Executive Officer Kevin Rollins said here today.

Dell presently employs 10,000 people at its support and product development centres in India.

"Time is ripe for second phase of our expansion in India. We are talking to Federal (Centre) government and state governments as to where is the best place to set up a manufacturing site," Rollins said.

Dell has seven manufacturing plants all over the world and the India unit would be the eighth plant

He said the manufacturing site would be selected on the basis of how good the logistics were in an area, able work force and cooperation the company can get from the local government.

The manufacturing unit of Dell in India would cater to the local market to start with.

The main consideration driving Dell's manufacturing plans was the growth of the Indian personal computer market which will touch four million units this year and grow to 10 million in the next three to five years. (Agencies)

This release addresses several bugfixes and some security issues only affecting Internet Explorer. Additionally we introduced a new feature to limit the number of logins. MSN's Tabbed Browsing

In a future post I will talk about some of the challenges relating to building Tabbed Browsing as an add-on to IE.
The MSN team has taken on this challenge, and their latest toolbar adds tabbed browsing to "older" versions of IE. I haven't used this toolbar enough to comment on the functionality, but I've seen some confusion in the community and I want to clarify that this is a separate effort from IE7.

Scan your PC with Windows Live

The Windows Live Safety Center scans your PC for “viruses, wasted disk space, maintenance issues and common open ports.”
The online scanner only works using Internet Explorer and requires downloading and running ActiveX scanner files (ironic, no?). The scan can take some time to run (in fact, mine is still running) but looks to be a useful tool to snag PC nasties before they get you.

    Sorting your email with GMail

Ever needed to submit a valid email address to register for access to a website or make an online purchase? Ever wondered if in doing so your address wouldn't end up sold to or stolen by some spammer. Ever wondered who your address gets shared with?
I came across a great way of using Google's GMail to create disposable/sortable email addresses that let you duck spam and find out who is sharing your address and with whom.
If you have a GMail address named johndoe@gmail.com you obviously know that email sent to johndoe@gmail.com will reach you. The interesting feature that we're going to use is this: email to johndoe+amazon@gmail.com and johndoe+ebay@gmail.com will also reach you!
Need a valid address with eBay? Just stick "+ebay" immediately after your GMail username. Same for Amazon or your cable company or mailing lists to which you subscribe.
For the sake of this example, let's say you need to sign up for a mailing list that interests you, but you're afraid spammers might get your address. We'll call the list "exoticflowers". Sign up with the list using the address "johndoe+exoticflowers@gmail.com". Email to that address will still come to your "johndoe@gmail.com" address even though the "To:" will include that "+exoticflowers" in it. Don't add ANY spaces: those are not allowed in email addresses.
Okay, here's where it gets useful!
Click on "Settings" at the top of the page and then click on "Filters". Choose "Create a new filter". The ONLY piece you need to fill out in the little form that appears is the "To:" line. Type in "johndoe+exoticflowers@gmail.com" and click "Next Step".
On this screen, click on the little drop-down menu next to "Apply the Label" and choose "New Label". Type in "Exotic Flowers" and hit "okay".
So what have we done? We have created a filter so that every message to "johndoe+exoticflowers@gmail.com" will be labeled with "Exotic Flowers". Instead of showing up in your main mailbox, these will now automatically appear under the label "Exotic Flowers". You'll see a list of labels on you Inbox screen along with how many new messages have come in with that label. Just click on the label name to see the messages.
This does several great things for you. First, if you get lots of mail you can now sort it into categories that are useful to you. Second, if you have trouble getting off a mailing list you can simply filter that address straight to your Trash so that you never have to deal with it. Finally, if you start getting spammed you'll know which company or list let the spammers get you address: those spams will contain the modified address, so they'll end up in the same folder as the company or list that let the spammers (or "affiliated company") get your address.
GMail is an incredible application that will let you do LOTS of cool stuff with your email. This is just one example: search the web and the GMail site for more clever tricks!

Microsoft Delays Next Internet Explorer 7

Microsoft Corp. postponed the introduction of the next test release of its Internet Explorer 7 Web browser until sometime in 2006, according to comments posted to the company's site for software developers.
In a blog posting on the software giant's MSDN developer site, Dean Hachamovitch, product line manager for IE at Microsoft, said that the Redmond, Wash.-based company will post an "updated pre-release build of IE 7 for Windows XP publicly" during the first calendar quarter of 2006. The IE team leader indicated that people interested in gaining access to the browser preview would not need to be members of the MSDN community.

It also has these cool features:

    • Opens the attachments you receive in messages, including photos, Microsoft Word documents and .pdf files
    • Lets you reply by call to people whose phone numbers are in your Gmail Contacts list

Talking about Where in the world is Windows Live Mail?

Where in the world is Windows Live Mail?

When we started the Windows Live Mail beta, it was only available for users in the US and UK.  But we didn't want to keep the fun all to ourselves.  The beta is available (or will be very soon) in the following countries:

    • Australia
    • Brazil
    • Canada
    • China
    • France
    • Germany
    • Italy
    • Japan
    • Spain
    • United States
    • United Kingdom

If you live in one of these countries, you can go to http://ideas.live.com/ and sign up for the waiting list.  We're working hard to get invitations out to everyone who signs up.  If you don't live in one of those countries, don't worry.  We'll be adding support for more countries.

Google's Gmail Got a Mobile Touch

Gmail is now accessible from portable devices ::::: Google's free email service has been upgraded to support mobile phone browsers, in order to allow users to check their Gmail accounts from portable devices. The upgrade is actually a mobile-friendly version of the regular Gmail interface, designed specifically for the visual and software limitations of mobile devices. Users can view attached photos and documents and even reply by calling the contact, if the contact has a phone number filled. Google assured users that their Gmail accounts will remain synched, regardless which interface is used. Google's Gmail was the first free email service that offered users a very large Inbox. The move made its major competitors, Microsoft's Hotmail and Yahoo's Mail to rethink their Inbox size policy and give users more space. Signing up to Gmail is still done via invitations from other Gmail users and, now, using a mobile phone, but only for US. The company said it's working to get this service started in more countries. Try it out now! Gmail Mobile should work on most web enabled mobile phones and devices that have a wireless data plan. Try it out for yourself. Point your phone's web browser to http://m.gmail.com

    Why Technical support

Technical support (also tech support) is a range of services providing assistance with computer hardware, software, or other electronic or mechanical goods. In general, technical support services attempt to help the user solve specific problems with a product -- rather than providing training, customization, or other support services.
Most companies which sell hardware or software offer technical support over the telephone or via various online media such as email or a Web site. Companies and institutions frequently also have internal tech support for employees, students, or other associates. There are also many freely available tech support forums on the Internet, wherein experienced users volunteer to help novices.
Most of the ppl never ever undestand the value of the tech support what they chk only the cocst how much do we have to spend how much do we get but it's kida value to spend for tech support becoz have to think abt how much productivity company may lost and howmuch time company may waste but Big managers CEO's nver think abt this thinks they only behind $$$$$

    Batter my heart

Batter my heart, three-windowed Screen; for, you
    As yet but crash, fail, halt and seek to abend;
That I may point, and click, unplug me, and send
Your force, to format, fsck, fdisk and make me new.
I, like an unshared disk, to another due,
Labor to admit you, but oh, to no end,
Read-only, your memory in me, me should defend,
But is corrupted, and proves weak or untrue.
Yet dearly I love you , and would be loved fain,
But am booting unto your enemy:
Edit me, undo, or cut and paste again,
Take me to you, imprison me, for I
except you purge me, shall never be free,
Nor ever open, except you delete me.
